The representative of All-Russian scientific-research Institute of Aviation Materials (VIAM) Victoria A. Duyunova has become a honoree of 2013 youth award “The hope of Russia” of Russian Union of scientific and engineering public associations (RusUSEA) in the field of science and engineering.

Academician of RAS Yuri V. Tsetkov reported at the meeting of Presidium of Scientific-Technical Council of the All-Russian scientific-research Institute of Aviation Materials (VIAM) on December 16, 2013. Subject of his report was researches aimed at creation of new generation of nano-structured heavy tungsten alloys and components.

Alexander B. Povalko, Vice-Minister of Education and Science of Russian Federation visited the All-Russian scientific-research Institute of Aviation Materials (VIAM) on December 12, 2013.

The delegation headed by Alexey A. Seomin, the chief of unit of Department for development of priority directions of science and technologies of Ministry of education and science of Russian Federation, visited All-Russian scientific-research Institute of Aviation Materials (VIAM) on December 11, 2013.

In 2013 the All-Russian Scientific-research institute of aviation materials (VIAM) completed the installation of mycological test-benches intended for microbiological resistance testing in three climatic zones.

On December 3 – 4, 2013 the All-Russian research institute of aviation materials (VIAM) held the III All-Russian Conference on Test and Research of Material Properties “TestMat -2013”.

On December 04, 2013, Gelenjik Akimov Climatic Testing Center (GCTC) (a branch of VIAM) was visited by a delegation from Becker Industrial Coatings AB (Sweden).

On November 29, 2013 the All-Russian Scientific-research institute of aviation materials (VIAM) received a Letter of Appreciation from Mother Superior Eupraxia, the prioress of Ascension Orsha convent.

On November 28, 2013 the specialists of the All-Russian Scientific-research institute of aviation materials (VIAM) Alexander Raskutin and Alla Rodina took part in a meeting of representatives of partner-companies participating in PoLaRBEAR project devoted to its launching that was held in the German Aerospace Center (DLR)* (Braunschweig).

On November 27, 2013 the scientific conference “Modern magnesium and aluminum casting alloys” devoted to the 100^th anniversary of distinguished scholar in the sphere of aviation material science and metallurgy, Professor Moritz B. Altman, Doctor of Engineering Science, took place in the All-Russian Scientific-research institute of aviation materials (VIAM).

27 ноября 2013 г. в ВИАМ прошла встреча специалистов института и представителей немецкой фирмы «Zwick GmbH&Co.KG».

Since 10 till 16 of November 2013  representatives of VIAM Konstantin Khvatsky and Michael Gorbovets held a number of working meetings in Ulm (Germany), Löningen and Neuehausen-am-Reinfall (Switzerland).

On November 15, 2013 representatives of scientific-manufacturing company «Guangdong Strong Metal Technology Co» Ltd and Guangdong University of Technology visited the All-Russian scientific-research institute of aviation materials (VIAM). During negotiations the guests from China considered with representatives of VIAM cooperation issues on a number of directions. In particular, they grew interested in purchase of MAP-series units, manufactured at VIAM.

On November 13, 2013 a letter came to academician of RAS Evgeny N. Kablov, Director General of the All-Russian scientific-research institute of aviation materials (VIAM), in which Michael B. Rogachyov, director of FSAI «Russian Foundation for Technological Development» expresses his «sincere thankfulness for interaction, active and successful work at joint exposition  «Russian Foundation for Technological Development  – Russian technological platforms».

On November 13, 2013 the scientific conference «Russian polymeric composite materials of new generation for aerospace equipment “VIAM – PORCHER”» took place at the All-Russian research institute of aviation materials (VIAM).

On November 12 the Round Table «The role of new materials and technologies in creation of space engineering» devoted to the 25 anniversary of the successful space flight of the space-shuttle system "Energia-Buran" took place at the All-Russian scientific-research institute of aviation materials (VIAM).
