Representatives of the All-Russian scientific-research institute of aviation materials (VIAM) Sergey Golynets, Vasily Listarkov, George Nuzhny, Vladimir Krylov and Alexander Ilyichev took part in the XXII International forum on material testing "TestExpo 2013" which traditionally was held in the German city Ulm on October 14 -17, 2013. The main organizer of the forum was Zwick/Roell Group, one of the world leaders on production of test equipment.
During the event, the employees of VIAM got acquainted themselves with the model range of test equipment (static test machines, including universal ones, test devices, extensometers, heat chambers, software) manufactured by Zwick/Roell. They also assessed its production capabilities, studied the directions and tendencies of development of modern test equipment.
«About 1200 people from all over the world took part in the work of the forum, including more than 80 people from 37 organizations of Russia and CIS countries», – reported Vladimir Krylov.
On October 14, Jörg Gastrok, director of the representative office of Zwick/Roell in the CIS opened the Russian-speaking section, where Alexander Ilyichev presented the report «Features of mechanical tests of composite materials».
In particular, he told about the material qualification technique starting from the development of PCM components up to tests of full-scale structures and pointed out a big variety of tests and difficulties with their implementation. In addition, employees of Zwick/Roell presented their reports about the main tendencies of development of servohydraulic machines, high-frequency resonance pulsators and test machines for rupture strength and creep strength.
On October 15, Sergey Golynets held negotiations on delivery of KAPPA-type test machines for rupture strength and creep strength to VIAM. George Nuzhny and Vladimir Krylov examined in details some modern contactless methods of strain definition and new test equipment, including that for bearing tests.
Vasily Listarkov noted that «such forums give the chance not only to evaluate the direction and tendencies of development of modern test equipment and examine achievements of Zwick/Roell , but also to exchange of the experience with Russian colleagues in the field of material testing and directly with designers of test equipment».
