The representatives of the NRC “Kurchatov institute” – VIAM took part in a meeting of the Council of young scientists of the International Association of Academies of Sciences (IAAS). The event was held in the House of scientists of the NRC "Kurchatov Institute" named after Academician A.P. Aleksandrov as part of the 35th meeting of the Council of IAAS.
The participants from different countries shared the experience in supporting young specialists, talked about the problems they face, discussed future projects. In particular, the plans are to participate in a number of international scientific events, such as the Congress of young scientists (Sochi, December 1–3), the conference “Youth in science - 2022” (will be held in Minsk in October) and festival “Nauka 0+”, Caravan of creative technologies” (will be held in Moscow, Minsk and Bishkek).
The First Deputy Director of the NRC “Kurchatov Institute”, Julia Dyakova, in her report, told colleagues about the unique research infrastructure of the Kurchatov Institute and the development
prospects of Mega science, and the deputy head of the Kurchatov Complex for Synchrotron and Neutron Investigations (KCSNI) Nadezhda Chubova told about the system of training of scientific personnel: from “Kurchatov classes” in schools to programs of further professional education for already practicing young researchers.
“The meeting of the Council of young scientists IAAS is the most important platform for discussing relevant topics that interest young scientists from different countries. I have confidence that today's meeting will contribute to the development of the scientific potential of youth, as well as to unite the efforts of scientists for the implementation of new breakthrough developments,” – the representative of the Council of young specialists and scientists of the NRC “Kurchatov institute” – VIAM, Pavel Mazalov shares his impressions.
The International Association of the Academy of Sciences (IAAS) was created after the collapse of the Soviet Union. According to the data in April 2022, the International Association unites 20 fully legitimate member organizations and five associated, representing Russia, Belarus, China, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Mongolia, Vietnam and other countries.
