On October 1-3, 2013 representatives of the All-Russian scientific-research institute of aviation materials (VIAM) Svyatoslav Nerush and Pavel Min took part in the II International scientific-practical conference «Perspectives of development of metallurgy and machine building when using completed fundamental investigations and SRD works».

More than 80 specialists of leading domestic and foreign enterprises in the field of ferrous and non-ferrous metallurgy but also in the field of machine building (IMET UrB RAS, ОJSC «Uralmekhanobr», IMEТ RAS after the name of А.А. Baykov, ОSC SPA «TsNIITMASH», FSAEI HPE «UrFu named after the first President of Russia B.N. El’tsin», OSC «VNIIMETMASH», FSUE «TsNIIchermet» after the name of  I.P. Bardin, ОSC «EVRAS NTMK», SPECTRO Analytical Instruments, GEFRAN SPA, АО «SAT&Company», Linn High Therm GmBH and etc.) made their reports.

Svyatoslav Nerush presented the report «Powder materials for additive technologies» at the section «New technologies and materials with higher functional properties, including powder ones, protection of metals against corrosion». It was noted in the report, that with the purpose to solve the problem of providing branch enterprises with powders of domestic alloys,   VIAM employees had carried out a complex work, directed on development of metallic powder manufacturing technologies for additive technologies using up-to-date equipment - atomizer Hermiga 100/10 VI. Serial deliveries of powders for laser LMD-overlaying to JSC«Aviadvigatel’» were made. According to Svyatoslav Nerush, positive comments were received from customer’s enterprise on the quality of manufactured powders. Further cooperation on expansion of nomenclature of domestic alloys powders manufacture, including powders on titanium basis, continues aimed at replacement of import by 100%.  

Pavel Min made a report «Resource-saving technology of recycling of all forming waste of modern heat-resistant nickel alloys» at the section «Up-to-date technologies and equipment for utilization of factory waste with extraction of precious components». «The report contains the information about advantages of this technology, in particular, about a complex and efficient recycling of all forming waste of modern heat-resistant nickel alloys aimed at saving expensive and hard-to-get metals, containing in them, and also the item how to reduce a cost of alloys due to waste usage», – he said. Besides, it was reported about the scientific-production complex on manufacture of cast bar billets of high heat-resistant nickel alloys organized at VIAM and about the modern equipment, which is applied successfully at the institute for their production.    

Both reports rose great interest of participants of the event. The representatives of VIAM also answered many questions of participants of the conference, in particular relating to refining of waste from additives and non-metallic inclusions.

When summing up the conference, academician of RAS L.I. Leont’ev, the Chairman of the organizing committee presented the specialists of VIAM diplomas for the best section reports.

Besides, during their journey  to Ekaterinburg Pavel Min and Svyatoslav Nerush visited  the V Ural mining industry forum and the Х International special-purpose exhibition dedicated to  metalworking equipment, materials, completeness and service for machine building  «UralMetalExpo 2013».
