On September 30-October 4, 2013 representatives of the All-Russian scientific-research institute of aviation materials (VIAM) took part in the conference «Intermetallics 2013», which took place in Germany in the educational center «Kloster Banz» (Bavaria).
The issues of improvement of various properties of intermetallic alloys, methods of their processing, but also of expansion the field of their application were the focus of attention.
During the conference the employee of VIAM Elvira Arginbaeva presented the report «Influence of phase composition and structure on properties of high-temperature intermetallic alloys on the base of Ni3Al». The report «Influence of alloying by refractory elements on microstructure and mechanical properties of nickel intermetallic alloy with polycrystalline structure » was presented by the engineer of VIAM Elena Turenko. In his turn, the employee of VIAM Andrew Shiryaev made a report «Evolution of structure and mechanical properties of high-alloyed titanium alloys of eutectic composition depending on regimes of their heat-treatment».
«A specialized industrial exhibition aroused a great attention of participants of the conference. At the exhibition there was an opportunity to get acquainted with interesting achievements of different foreign companies and universities in the field of materials and technologies development», Andrew Shiryaev informed.
It is noticeable, that the educational center «Kloster Banz», in which the conference was taking place, is situated near Bamberg-town in the famous historical place – monastery «Banz Abbey», founded approximately in 1070.
