On September 1 - 5 2013, Estoril city (Portugal) hosted "EUROCORR 2013" - European Corrosion Congress. The Congress opening ceremony was attended by professor Lorenzo Fedrizi, president of EFC; professors Fatima Montemor and Joa Fernandez, vice- presidents of EFC. As noted by Fatima Montemor, "EUROCORR 2013 - is the largest congress in Europe, which is attended by over 1.500 participants from more than 50 countries around the world." During the congress, Dmitry Chesnokov and Ilya Kozlov, representatives of VIAM, visited the exhibition, where they got familiar with the latest equipment in the field of electrochemical research of Cortec corporation, Gamry instruments and Metrohm Autolab. Juna Pippo, a representative of Cormet company (Finland) spoke about the latest developments in the manufacture of equipment for corrosion testing, in particular, to test the susceptibility of materials to corrosion cracking.
At the non-metallic inorganic coatings section that was held on September 3, Ilya Kozlov made presentation "Hetero-oxide protective coating for magnesium alloys." Dmitry Chesnokov made his presentation "Susceptibility of aluminum alloys to corrosion cracking at stressed fasteners mounting" at the section on methods and mechanisms of corrosion.
