On August 29, 2013 at the International Aviation and Space Salon MAKS-2013 the management of VIAM negotiated with representatives of leading foreign companies Toray, ESI Group, Teijin and Russian companies VSMPO AVISMA and Beriev TANTK.
At the meeting, the prospects of cooperation and ways to promote interaction in various fields of aviation materials science were discussed.
Representatives of VIAM discussed with Toray company a mass production of intermediate-strength fibers.
Also in the course of negotiations with ESI Group company the parties agreed on implementation of joint project aimed at adapting the software for process design and engineering in the field of PCM to the databases of materials developed by VIAM. At the same time, the parties agreed to study the issue of joint participation in the engineering support of projects implemented by Russian enterprises using PCM.
At the meeting with representatives of Teijin company, the issues on serial deliveries of intermediate- and high-strength fibers including those with finishing composition, as well as expanding the areas of licenses for fibers were discussed.
Teijin company expressed a willingness to cooperate and recommended a number of fillers of its own design to the Institute for creation of PCM applicable to such civil sectors of economics as construction, transport infrastructure, mechanical engineering, etc. "VIAM is open to mutually beneficial cooperation not only with foreign, but also with domestic manufacturers of fibers for PCM," - said in this regard Denis Grashchenkov, Deputy Director General of VIAM.
