On August 26, 2013 the conference «New generation materials and technologies for advanced aerospace engineering» took place at FSUE “VIAM” SRC RF within the frame of the International scientific and technical symposium « Future of global aviation» and “MAKS-2013” International Air Show. The Conference is dated for the 20 anniversary of establishment of the state research centers of the Russian Federation.

The event was opened by academician Evgeny N. Kablov, Director General of the All-Russian scientific-research institute of aviation materials (VIAM) who delivered his salutatory word to participants. He told the attendees about history and prospects of the domestic materials science to meet specific requirements of the aviation industry. «The materials allow the designers to implement their ideas, and VIAM actively works in this direction», – declared Evgeny Kablov.

«Innovations are impossible without new materials», – he emphasized. The director general of VIAM reported that «the interest shown to this conference proves that our new materials are demanded by the domestic defense industry complex».
