On August 26, 2013 academician Evgeny Kablov, Director General of the All-Russian scientific-research institute of aviation materials (VIAM) made the report «New generation materials and technologies for the aviation of tomorrow» at the plenary session of the International scientific and technical symposium «Future of Global Aviation» The event took place in Moscow at the World Trade Center
«Long-term domestic and foreign experience shows that more than 80 % of innovative developments in leading industry and economics branches are based on introduction of new materials and technologies of their production», – declared Evgeny Kablov.
He reminded that VIAM had developed «Strategic directions of development of materials and technologies of their processing for the period till 2030» taking into account priorities of the state policy in different fields, strategy of development of state corporations and integrated structures, world trends in the development of materials.
Also the director general of VIAM focused the attention on specific developments of the institute to create high-strength Al-Li alloys, composite, self-adapting and "smart" materials, Ni-based superalloys, special coatings, lightning stroke protection and "green" technologies.
Boris Alyoshin, director general of TsAGI, J. Shodrach, president of IFAR and Andrey Boginsky, director of the aviation industry department of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation delivered their welcoming speeches during the symposium. Jiawon Shin, NASA Associate Administrator for Aeronautics made the report «Global aviation: Strategic prospection of NASA».
The symposium took place from August 23 till September 4 within the frames of "MAKS-2013" Air Show under the support of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation and Russian Engineering Union. The main organizer of the symposium was N.E.Zhukovsky Central Aerohydrodynamic institute under the aegis of IFAR.
The conference «New generation materials and technologies for advanced aerospace engineering» took place at VIAM within the frame of the International scientific and technical symposium « Future of global aviation».
