Thematic train “Space Mosprom” was launched at the Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya line of the Moscow Metro; the train is dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the first man-in-space flight and the day of the Moscow industry.
The train will run for half a year. In the coaches passengers will be able to see more than 200 photographs of legendary cosmonauts, engineers, inventions of space industry and photos of the Moon surface.
More than 40 capital companies, research and development institutes and largest corporations that took part in the development of this mobile exhibition; the All-Russian Scientific Research Institute of Aviation Materials (NRC “Kurchatov Institute” – VIAM) was also among them.
Muscovites and the guests of the capital will be able to learn more about the developments made by the Institute which served great role in implementation of the space project. For example, about the produced materials and technologies for the “Buran” spaceplane, “Mars” and “Venus” apparatuses, first man-made earth satellite, “Vostok” spaceplane and many others.
It is necessary to add that launching of thematic trains in the Moscow Metro has become a tradition already. They are dedicated to important events in the city, country and world.
