The Testing Center of the All-Russian Scientific Research Institute of Aviation Materials (VIAM) passed the annual examination of the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RS).

Within the examination the quality management system was inspected as well as the testing equipment and measurement instrument, approval and internal documents systems. Moreover, the VIAM specialists performed the mechanical and ultrasonic testing of samples from aluminum alloy in accordance with the requirements of the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping.

It is necessary to remind that the VIAM Testing Center was already certified with a certificate of recognition by the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping in 2016. This document confirms that the technical competence of the Testing Center meets the requirements of the RS.    

The Russian Maritime Register of Shipping is the state institution of technical supervision and classification of marine vessels within the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation. The development and constant improvement of the regulations of the Maritime register according to the international standards in order to provide high level of safety at sea and pollution prevention is among the main priorities of the RS.
