From 20th to 25th of June the All-Russian Scientific Research Institute of Aviation Materials (VIAM) was taking part in the International Aviation and Space Salon MAKS-2021.
Participants and visitors of the aviation and space salon were able to get acquainted with the main business profiles and latest achievements of the Institute in development of new generation materials and technologies. The VIAM’s exposition was given a high rating by the competent experts and specialists from near and far-abroad countries.
The central point of the VIAM’s exhibition belonged to the Institute’s inventions in additive technologies. For instance, vistiors were able to see the small-sized gas-turbine engines MGTD-20 and MGTD-150, experimental jet-drive unmanned aerial vehicles designed by the Institute’s specialists and parts of the next-gen homeland helicopter engines manufactured at the Institute as well.
VIAM’s showpieces were also exhibited at the United Engine Corporation’s pavilion.
Within the business program VIAM representatives conducted negotiations with the leading enterprises in the aviation industry: PJSC "Tupolev", JSC “National Helicopter Center Мil&Kamov”, JSC “Regional Aircraft” – Branch of the “Irkut” Corporation, JSC “UEC-Klimov”, etc. A wide range of issues concerning the realization of collaborative efforts was discussed at these meetings, including those concerning the application of modern VIAM’s materials to the aviation products.
Moreover, the VIAM team held talks with the PJCS “Ruspolymet” and JSC “VSMPO-AVISMA Corporation” during which they discussed the issues of improvement of production technology and quality control of the materials, as well as cooperative works in research and development support of ingots’ melting.
It is necessary to add that VIAM and the JSC “Aluminium Metallurg Rus” signed the contract for research and development support of production activities.
On Russian Students Day (it has been celebrated at MAKS salon since 2015) VIAM specialists held the career aptitude meeting with the students of the leading technical universities of Moscow. The students were highly interested in additive technologies inventions.
The 15th International Aviation and Space Salon MAKS-2021 was taking place at the airdrome of the Gromov Flight Research Institute in Zhukovsky from 20th to 25th of June, 2021. As reported by the directorate 135 020 people visited the salon both as visitors and exhibitors. 831 companies from 56 countries took part including the remote participation in the business program of MAKS-2021. 202 aircrafts were presented in a flight program and in a static exhibition as a part of a demonstration program.
