On May 12th, 2021 at the Ulyanovsk Scientific-Technological Center of the All-Russian Scientific Research Institute of Aviation Materials (UNTC VIAM) a ribbon-cutting ceremony was held for opening of a new laboratory and manufacturing complex for production of polymer composite materials and coatings.
Aleksey Yurevich Russkikh, the governor ad interim of the Ulyanovsk Region, Olga Gennadievna Ospennikova, the Deputy Director General of VIAM and representatives of the Government of the region and of the Ulyanovsk Region Development Corporation took part in the ceremony.
“Our site in Ulyanovsk is one of the most modern automated production facilities in Russia providing high accuracy of prepreg manufacturing. This project has been powered by the Ministry of Trade and Industry and the Russian Federation and the Government of the Ulyanovsk Region.” - Olga Ospennikova said.
The new complex is designed for manufacturing of high-tech and science-intensive products of a new generation (adhesive prepregs, binding films and glues) for aircraft industry. The complex is equipped with modern high-tech automated equipment ensuring the manufacturing of high quality products. Up to 40 workplaces will be organized at the facility.
To recap, the Ulyanovsk Scientific-Technological Center of VIAM is one of the leading facilities in the region to develop the innovative technologies and manufacture products for aircraft and other branches of industry.
