On January 27^th, 2021 the governor of the Ulyanovsk region Sergey Morozov visited the Ulyanosk Scientific-Technological Center of the All-Russian Scientific Research Institute of Aviation Materials (UNTC VIAM). 

The main purpose of this visit was the review of the building progress of the new laboratory and production facility for manufacturing of polymer composite materials and coatings in UNTC VIAM.

As the head of the UNTC VIAM Evgeny A. Veshkin has noted the building of the facility is on the final stage: all construction and assembly works have been finished, the newest complex automatized equipment for manufacturing of prepregs of polymer composite materials and film adhesives has been supplied and installed, at present the Federal Service for Environmental, Technological and Nuclear Oversight of Russia is performing the final stage of assessment.

Head of the scientific-research division “Polymer composite materials and technologies of their processing” Pavel N. Timoshkov explained to the head of the region that on the basis of this new complex for the purposes of import phase-out the commercial production of half-products and final products from polymer composite materials of new generation for the latest patterns of equipment is designated. The design capacity of the facility is up to 1 million square meters per year.  

Sergey Morozov expresses his gratitude to the UNTC VIAM team for its contribution to the development of Ulyanovsk and the region in general. He highly praised the scientific and technological outfit and productive capacity of the newly built complex and gave thanks for the construction of the facility in short time.
