A letter from the JSC “UES-Klimov” Executive Director Alexander Ivanovich Vatagin has been sent to the address of Evgeny Nikolaevich Kablov, the Director General of the All-Russian Scientific Research Institute of Aviation Materials (VIAM) and the Academician of RAS.  

“On behalf of the JSC “UEC-Klimov” team I am sincerely grateful to you for your congratulations on the successful maiden flight of the Il-114-300 aircraft with TV7-117ST-01 engines.   

This is our common victory and a great event that was successfully held due to the concerted efforts of true professionals with FSUE “VIAM” specialists among them. In conjunction with VIAM’s specialists the evidentiary documentation was composed and the works were performed that ensured the opportunity of maiden flight of the Il-114-300 airplane.    

I would like to specially indicate that the level of fabricability, up-to-dateness and competitive capacity of TV7-117ST-01 engines during certification will be significantly subject to the use of VNA blades in the products, manufactured by FSUE “VIAM” by additive technologies’ most advances methods. This technology will allow shortening the production cycle, reducing the general weight and reducing the layer thickness of the blade profile for the improvement of the engine’s characteristics.

It is worth reminding that on December 16^th, 2020 the new commercial regional turboprop airplane Il-114-300 made its maiden flight at the Zhukovsky airport. During the flight engine operating conditions, stability and airplane sensitivity were tested as well as airplane’s systems performance. The Russian engines TV7-117ST-01 were mounted on this airplane.
