Within framework of its official visit to France, VIAM delegation headed by academician Evgeny Kablov, Director General visited the Headquarter and two plants of the French company Porcher Industries in Badiniere. During the visit the delegation examined the main production facilities of the plants, lines for production of carbon and glass fabrics and organization of the production process.
Regis Ledye, President of the supervisory board of the company, Henri Brosse, Director General of the company and Victor Bourkov, Director General of LLC “Porcher Advanced materials” took part in the meeting from the French part.
The All-Russian institute of aviation materials, a leading material science center of Russia and Porcher Industries, one of the world leaders in production of woven reinforcing fillers for polymer composite materials have been bound up by a long-term partnership. During the visit, the parties discussed prospects of cooperation expansion in the field of development of composites of new generation using fillers produced by the French company both for aerospace engineering and other industries.
Representatives of VIAM and Porcher Industries discussed some aspects of the forthcoming (no later than September of this year) launching of production of carbon fabrics at LLC “Porcher Advanced materials” (Borovsk, the Kaluga Region) and deliveries of glass fabrics, which are priority for the Russian market, from France according to the specifications coordinated with VIAM. Participants of the meeting also discussed the need of carrying out full-scale researches with involvement of climatic centers available at VIAM (Moscow and Gelengjik centers) and climatic stations of Russian Academies of Sciences for assessment of environment resistance of up-to-date composite materials on the basis of thermoplastics made by the French company. Besides, the parties coordinated preliminary volumes and pricing policy for future deliveries of fabrics from plants of LLC “Porcher Advanced materials”.
In order to ensure a successful implementation of the above decisions, the parties agreed to sign an expanded cooperation agreement at the working meeting during the International aerospace show MAX-2013.
