The All-Russian Scientific Research Institute of Aviation Materials (VIAM) took part in the Moscow International Book Fair (MIBF) at the Central Manezh Exhibition Hall on September 2^nd – 6^th, 2020.

The MIBF is organized by the General Directorate of International Book Exhibitions and Fairs of the State Publishing Committee of the Russian Federation. This exhibition commonly attracts thousands of visitors and is a platform for sharing of experience and demonstration of the latest achievements in the book publishing industry; the largest national and foreign publishers took part in the exhibition. 

VIAM presented its own books at the joint booth of the “SCIENCE” Association of the State Scientific Centers.  The participants and visitors of the exhibition were able to have a look at the training aids prepared by VIAM on the basis of latest scientific achievements of the Russian specialists in materials science as well as fiction documentary biographic books about the outstanding materials scientists.  

VIAM also presented the latest releases published in 2020, for instance the training aid “Influence of impurities and microalloying on structure and performance properties of the single crystals of the nickel heat-resistant alloys” and the “VIAM’s Red Directors” book dedicated to Petr Bakhmatov and Vasily Desyatnikov – the “red directors” who stood at the origins of the Institute. 

The “SCIENCE” Association of the State Scientific Centers has taken part in the Moscow International Book Fair for the fourth time already. At the joint booth of the Association the representatives of the state scientific centers of Moscow and other cities told about the history, growth prospects and achievements of the modern science by means of print media; this also serves to the greatest purpose of popularization of scientific knowledge. Four-year-long experience of Association’s participation in the Book Fair shows that scientific publications are in high demand of the readership.
