On August 6th the PJSC “UAC” delegation headed by Sergey S. Korotkov, the Chief Designer of the Corporation visited the All-Russian Scientific Research Institute of Aviation Materials (VIAM). This delegation included the representatives of Public Joint Stock Company "Ilyushin Aviation Complex", PJSC “Tupolev”, Regional Aircraft – Branch of the Irkut Corporation, JSC “SCA”, JSC “RAC “MiG”, JSC “United engine corporation” and JSC “Russian Helicopters”.

The VIAM abilities in the field of development and mass production of new generation materials for the products of the domestic aircraft equipment were demonstrated to the delegation. For instance, the guests were able to find out more about the research-and-production complexes for mass production of cast rod stocks from heat-resistant alloys, polymer composite materials, thermal treatment, ion-plasma coatings and molding of single crystal blades of gas-turbine engines and units.

Moreover, the representatives of the aircraft industry visited the full cycle additive production organized at the Institute which includes all stages of this process – from melting of a burden feedstock and its atomization to synthesis of finished parts and their further treatment.
Then in a meeting the parties discussed the issues of application of metal and polymer composite materials of new generation in the structures of advanced products of aeronautical equipment and technologies for their processing including the additive technologies.
