The All-Russian Scientific Research Institute of Aviation Materials (VIAM) has sent various books to the Secondary General Schools and local libraries under the charity event held this year.

300 schools from the Komi Republic and the Republic of Karelia, the Vologda, Murmansk, Kirov, Kostroma, Smolensk and Ulyanovsk Regions will get books of different genres like novels, fantastic fiction, adventure, war stories and other books written by the magnificent national writers – classics of the Russian literature.

Moreover, VIAM has purchased various classic fiction, Russian history books and military-patriotic books for the libraries of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District, the Belgorod, Bryansk, Kursk, Lipetsk, Oryol, Saratov, Pskov, Novgorod and Ulyanovsk Regions (180 addressees in total).

Schools have also received books published by the Institute. They include the biography of the great soviet scientist and aircraft designer Robert Bartini and documentary fiction work about the pioneer in the national materials science and engineering and the founder of the VIAM Ivan Ivanovich Sidorin.

The total cost of all the purchased books is 6 262 289 rubles. It is necessary to add that such charity events are being held by VIAM since 2015.
