The high-profile ceremony for awarding the prize winners of the “Engineer of the Year-2019” All-Russian contest took place in the Russian Union of Scientific and Engineering Non-Governmental Organizations (RosSNIO) on February 20^th, 2020.

This contest decides the best engineering specialists in 44 categories in 2 versions: the “Professional Engineers” - for the employees with at least 5 years of experience at an engineering position and the “Art of Engineering of the Young” - for the young specialists of up to 30 years old. The selection of the winners is performed in two stages.

The employees of the All-Russian Scientific Research Institute of Aviation Materials (VIAM) are among the winners. In the “Professional Engineers” version Sergey Voynov, Dmitry Korolev, Alexey Kochetkov, Maria Prokopchenko, Alexey Rogalev, Nikolay Sevast’yanov and Andrey Shiryaev have become the prize winners. In the “Art of Engineering of the Young” there have been awarded Vsevolod Voronov, Ivan Krasnov, Yanis Nikitin and Natalia Yakusheva.

All the prize winners were awarded with the diplomas, certificates, silver honorary distinctions “Professional Engineer of Russia” and commemorative medals “Laureate of the Competition”.

he “Engineer of the year” award is organized by the Russian Union of Scientific and Engineering Non-Governmental Organizations (RosSNIO), International Union of Scientific and Engineering Non-Governmental Organizations, Academy of Engineering Science n.a. A.M. Prokhorov and the Inter-regional Social Fund of Scientific and Technological Progress Support. The main purpose of the award is the recognizing of the top leaders of the engineering field, raising the interest to this profession among young people and promoting the status value of the engineering labor itself.
