The All-Russian Scientific Research Institute of Aviation Materials (VIAM) specialists have become the prize-winners of the Moscow Government Award for young scientists of 2019.
In the nomination “Engineering Science” (in research sphere) the following VIAM employees have been awarded – Pavel Panin, Alexey Kochetkov and Evgeny Alexeev. This writing team has been awarded for the cycle of fundamental and applied works on examination and practical approval of new heat-resistant intermetallic gamma-phase- and ortho-phase-alloys on the basis of titanium aluminides with high specific properties and thermal stability at 600-800oC operating temperature. These alloys are designed for manufacturing of turbine parts and compressors of the advanced homemade gas-turbine engines.
Another writing team has also won the award in the nomination “Innovative Industrial Technologies”. The work of our specialists Pavel Min, Vitaly Vadeev, Vadim Kramer is dedicated to the development of corrosion- and heat-resistant alloys and commercial technologies of their production in order to achieve import substitution of the large-scale blades of gas-turbine engines for the Russian power industry.
High-profile ceremony of awarding the prize-winners will take place at the State Kremlin Palace on February 7th, 2020.
It is necessary to mention that the Moscow Government Prize is awarded since 2013. To take part in the contest is allowed to the postgraduate students, Candidates of Sciences, research scientists – specialists up to 35 years old inclusive and Doctors of Sciences up to 40 years old. The organizer of the award is the Moscow Department of Science, Industrial Policy and Business Activity.
