The All-Russian Scientific Research Institute of Aviation Materials (VIAM) took part in the 2nd Chinese international exhibition of import products and services “China International Import Expo-2019” (CIIE) which took place on 5^th to 10^th of November in the Shanghai New International Expo Centre – one of the biggest exhibition centers in the world.

The idea of this exhibition arose during the international cooperation forum “the Belt and Road Initiative” in Beijing in May, 2017 when the President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping suggested arranging the regular international exhibition of import products in Shanghai starting in 2018.

On the contrary to the traditional exhibitions the purpose of which is sale of the domestic goods and presentation of export capacity of the country the CIIE is focused on promotion of import. Its purpose is to invite the most advanced foreign manufacturers able to supply the Chinese market with the high-quality products.

The VIAM exposition was presented at the Moscow Government booth which had united several enterprises of Moscow. The guests and participants of the exhibition were able to have a look at the Institute inventions in the field of casting of gas-turbine engine blades and plants. For instance, there were presented the samples of working blades made of heat-resistant single-crystal nickel-based alloy and the titanium compressor blades of aircraft gas turbine engine.

Besides one could have a look at the models designed and manufactured in VIAM: MAP-2 – automated plants for ion-plasma deposition and UVNK-9A – vacuum plant for blade casting with directional and single-crystal structure. By the way, these plants models were also produced from polymer materials by means of additive technology.
