The Testing Center of the All-Russian Scientific Research Institute of Aviation Materials (“VIAM”) took part in the annual Program of qualification round-robin tests PTP-2019 (Proficiency Testing Program).

This Program was established to confirm the qualification of the accredited laboratories. The largest international companies – Airbus, GE, Safran, MTU, GKN Aerospace Sweden, Airbus helicopters, Rolls Royce – are the sponsors of this Program. More than 100 laboratories all over the world take part in PTP-2019.

Within this Program the “Strength and reliability of the aircraft materials” laboratory performed tensile strength tests for a set of samples made of 2024 aluminum alloy. Following the results of the statistical data processing by the Program sponsors all results obtained by the VIAM Testing Center were ranked as the first-order accuracy ones (the highest rank).
