On March 13, 2013 academician of RAS Evgeny N. Kablov, General Director of VIAM, President of the Association of the state scientific centers "NAUKA" and Olga G. Ospennikova and Denis V. Grashchenkov, deputy general directors of VIAM took part in the meeting of the Interdepartmental Commission on Technological Development at the Presidium of the Council on modernization of economy and innovative development of Russia at the President of the Russian Federation, which was held at the Ministry of Economic Development of the RF.

Among other aspects, some problems referred to technological platforms, the list of the organizations having the status of the state scientific center of the Russian Federation, and to the procedure of the development of the “road maps” to promote new branches of economics, including such areas as production of composite materials, biotechnology, genetic engineering, IT technologies, town planning, engineering and industrial design were considered at the meeting.
