On September 21st, 2019 in Moscow at the Luzhniki stadium the finals of the “Mosprom” Spartakiad among industrial facilities and field-specific higher education institutions employees took place. More than 700 representatives of the industry sector took part in the competitions.
The “Mosprom” Spartakiad is the complex games for athletics, volleyball, indoor soccer, streetball, ping-pong and chess in which employees of the Moscow companies and students of the engineering specialties compete.
The try-outs of the first Spartakiad started on June 1st and ended on July 27th, 2019. Following the results of these try-outs 16 teams (eight companies and eight technical institutes) qualified for the final. The All-Russian Scientific Research Institute of Aviation Materials (“VIAM”) was among the best teams.
The final day of the “Mosprom” Spartakiad included competitions for 5 athletic disciplines (the volleyball tournament took place a week ago and VIAM won the third place). The VIAM representatives won the sixth place in indoor soccer, the eighth place in chess, and the fifth place in streetball, ping-pong and athletics. During the track-and-field in the individual event (category 35+) Ruslan Valeev won the first place in 100-meter race. In 1000-meter race (category under 35) Sergei Krylov won the second place. The VIAM team (Galina Kulagina, Ruslan Valeev, Elena Ivashkina, Sergei Krylov) won the Bronze in relay race.
Following the results of the finals VIAM has won the 6th team classification place.
It is necessary to mention that all together 103 industrial facilities and 14 technical institutes took part in the first “Mosprom” Spartakiad.
