On August 27th, 2019 within the business program of the International Aviation and Space Salon the ceremony of awarding the winners of the contest «Aviation Worker of the year» took place.

According to the results of 2018 more than 90 works by more than 60 candidates in 9 categories have been examined. The representatives of various aviation and radioelectronics industry companies have become the laureates and award winners. Among them there were the specialists of the All-Russian Scientific Research Institute of Aviation Materials (“VIAM”). .

VIAM was awarded with a diploma in category “For the development of a new technology” for the development of new generation home-made materials and technologies of manufacturing of half-way products for PD-14 engine.

The VIAM representatives were as well awarded in category “For the success in development of systems and machines for aircraft engineering”. The VIAM writing team (E.A. Veshkin, S.P. Savin, R.A. Satdinov) together with PJSC “Ilyushin Aviation Complex” and SC PDC “Teploobmennik” was awarded for the development of air conditioning system for Il-114-300 aircraft using the home-made nonmetallic air pipes.

The purpose of the «Aviation Worker of the year» contest is the development of the system of public stimulation of corporate crews of aircraft industry companies and facilities, as well as other institutions, associations, societies, agencies and independent physical persons who has achieved great results in scientific, industrial and social spheres of aircraft engineering and contributed much to it. It has been the 8^th contest in 2019.
