Delegation of European Aeronautic Defensive and Space Company (EADS) visited VIAM on February 20, 2013.
John M. Prays (UK), vice-president of EADS for innovative activities, Mikhael Gruenewald (Germany), vice-president, head of Expert Board for innovative developments, Michel Comes (France), Airbus representative, research and technology chief engineer and Richard Forster (UK), head of development of programs on researches, technologies and business in Russia formed a part of the delegation.
Denis Grashchenkov, Vladislav Antipov and Lyudmila Chursova, deputy general directors of VIAM participated in the meeting and told about activities and developments of VIAM in the field of civil aviation and discussed perspectives of joint cooperation with guests from Europe. In particular, a joint research project in the field of modeling of composite materials was considered.
Summarizing the results of the visit, EADS representatives noted a high level of equipment, innovative orientation of VIAM activities and a modern approach to the solution of scientific tasks. Research of characteristics of polymer composite materials for modeling constructions from PCM and technology of their production may be considered as the main subject which can become the basis for future cooperation.
