Recently the first issue of «Transactions of VIAM» on-line journal («Trudy VIAM») has been published. It is intended for information on scientific activities, developments and new results received by VIAM staff and scientists of other organizations in cooperation with VIAM. The journal is open and free for all users.

Let's remind that firstly the scientific and technical collection of articles «Transactions of VIAM» («Trudy VIAM») has been published by All-Russian scientific-research institute of aviation materials from 1956 till 1969. The purpose of this collection was to acquaint employees of research institutes and plants of aviation industry with VIAM activities on research of metal, non-metal and functional materials applied in aviation industry. The collection was of great scientific and practical value, and its articles are widely quoted so far.

The decision of the Presidium of Scientific and Technical Council of VIAM made in the year of the 80th anniversary of VIAM became the basis for recommencement of the journal.
