The Federal Service for Intellectual Property (Rospatent) summed up the results of the analysis of all patents issued in 2018 and published the list of top 100 inventions of the last year. The innovation by the All-Russian Scientific Research Institute of Aviation Materials (“VIAM”) was included into the top 100.

The “Heat-resistant coating” invention got the Certificate. Evgeny Kablov, Stanislav Solntsev, Valentina Rozenenkova and Valentina Denisova are the authors of the invention.    

The invention pertains to the field of materials for protection of gas turbine engines parts made of heat-resistant welded nickel alloys including the nitriding strengthened alloys from the oxidation under high-temperature gas corrosion during operation. The result obtained – increase of heat resistance and thermal stability of the coating at   1250°C, increase of adhesion of the coating to heat-resistant nickel alloys at room temperature.

Moreover, two more inventions by VIAM specialists entered the list “Promising Inventions” in 2018: the “Heat-resistant nickel-based alloy and workpiece made of it” (authors: Evgeny Kablov, Victor Sidorov, Dmitry Kablov, Pavel Min, Vitaly Vadeev) and the “Method for workpiece production from granulated heat-resistant nickel alloy” (authors: Evgeny Kablov, Mikhail Bakradze, Alexander Skugorev, Maxim Bubnov, Sergey Sidorov).
