On the 9^th of May the employees of the All-Russian Scientific Research Institute of Aviation Materials (“VIAM”) took part in the Immortal Regiment memorial event.  

The participants marched along the Leningradskiy prospect, Tverskaya Street, through the Okhotnyi Ryad, Manezh and Red Squares holding the portraits of their relatives who had fought at the fronts of the Second World War.

According to the data of the Ministry of the Internal Affairs about 700,000 people took part in the Immortal Regiment March this year.

The history of the Immortal Regiment started in 2007 in Tyumen where it took place as the Parade of the Victors. In 2013 the march spread over to 120 cities. In 2014 the residents of 500 cities in 7 countries marched with the portraits of relatives-war veterans, and in 2015 the campaign was established as an official all-Russian event.
