The representatives of the All-Russian Scientific Research Institute of Aviation Materials (“VIAM”) Nadezhda Al. Nochovnaya, Pavel V. Panin and Anatoly L. Yakovlev took part in the 17th International Conference “TI-2019 in CIS” that had taken place in Sochi from 17 to 19th of April, 2019.
Pavel Panin delivered his report “the Research of new beta-solidifying TiAl alloy of variable contents in as-cast condition” during the Section “Material Science of Titan and Titan Alloys”. The report represents the results of testing study of morphology of cast structure and phase composition of the advanced heat-resistant intermetallic gamma-alloy containing rare earth elements that had been developed in VIAM in 2015-2017 and is patented by the Russian Federation.
It is necessary to mention that the researches have been conducted under the sponsorship of the Russian Science Foundation (RSF) under the scientific project “Research of the influence of chemical composition variation, thermomechanical and heat treatments on the structure and phase state and mechanical properties characteristics of the intermetallic beta-solidifying gadolinium containing TiAl alloy”. This project has been conducting in VIAM since 2018 directed by Pavel Panin.
The “TI in CIS” International Conference is held annually in one of the CIS countries and is one of the most significant and reputable events in the field of metallurgy, extractive metallurgy and commercial exploitation of titan alloys in the former Soviet Union. The organizer of the Conference is the “Interstate Association Titan”, which was founded in 1991 and is now pooling more than 65 leading companies of titan industry and industry-specific research institutions in CIS countries.
