Delegation of VIAM, headed by General director of the institute, academician of RAS, professor Evgeny Nikolaevich Kablov during a working visit to China observed expositions, presented at IX International aerospace show «Air Show China-2012», which was held from 13 till 18 of November 2012 in Zhuhai  (south province Guangdong).

Evgeny Kablov met with representatives of leading world aircraft manufacturing corporations and the biggest home enterprises and institutes of aerospace branch also. Besides, he held negotiations with vice-president of the China commercial aircrafts corporation (COMAC) Wu Guanghui. During negotiations the sides agreed the issues of strategic cooperation and interaction on the Chinese analog of American Boeing-737 and European Airbus-320 – medium-haul aircraft C 919, which was presented at the show. In particular, the issues of cooperation on creation of high-strength titanium alloy for aircraft landing gear, aluminum –lithium alloys for application in its wing structures and complex protection of ageing, corrosion and biological damages.

This exhibition in China is the largest since its start in 1996. More than 350 companies from almost 40 countries participate to Airshow China–2012. The exhibition consists of three halls covering a surface of 50,000 sq m and static aircraft park of 410,000 sq m. About 90 aircraft are presented for the public at the event site.

Russian part of the exhibition is one of the largest and presented by the leading companies within Rostechnologii State Corporation, UAC, UEC, Russian Helicopters as well as JSC «Rosoboronexport», JSC «UIC «Оboronprom»,  JSC «Tactical Missiles Corporation», JSC «Sukhoi Company», JSC «PA «UOMZ», FSUE «Gas-Turbine Engineering Research and Production Center «Salut».

Airshow, which takes place in the course of the event, was opened with demonstrative flights of pilotage team "First of August" PLAAF on six multipurpose fighters J10 ("Chengdu-10"). “Air ballet”, performed by “Russkiye Vityazi“ pilotage team on SU-27 heavy fighters, which had not appeared in sky over Zhuhai for six years was a decoration of the exhibition. Russian multipurpose fighters of "4++" Su-35 generation and front-line bombers Su-32 (Su-34 in export modification) were of special interest for participants of the show. Among other exhibits are  ”Mi” and ”Ka” helicopters of export class, AAW devices, aero-engines, "air-to-air" missiles, various components of aircraft furnishing and other products. "Sukhoy Superjet 100" domestic medium-haul civil airliner was exposed on static a parking area.
