Evgeny Kablov also informed, that on the basis of analysis of tendencies in material development in the world and taking into account priority directions and critical aspects of science, technologies and engineering development in the Russian Federation, VIAM worked out «Strategic directions for development of materials and technologies of their processing for the period till 2030», including 18 scientific directions and 9 concepts against 71 complex problems. Advanced materials and technologies, developed at VIAM, their applicability, methods and equipment for testing and research, but also qualification issues of materials were considered in the report.
Chief of laboratory, Candidate of Technical Sciences L.V. Semyonova told about functional materials and a system for protection of composites from degradation and destruction during operation.
Properties and fields of application of different types of functional materials, including adhesives, sealants, elastic , insulation and decorative materials, paintwork coatings, but also protection systems of polymer composite materials from moisture, ageing, destruction , environmental and microbiological attacks.
Leading engineer of VIAM, Candidate of Technical Sciences D.I. Kogan made a report « Developments in the field of polymer composite materials»
The reporter considered principles of polymer resins development for different types of forming, technologies of PCM structures manufacture, investigations and developments of VIAM in the field of smart materials creation and issues, relating to computer simulation of PCM manufacturing technologies.
Chief of laboratory, Candidate of Technical Sciences A.G. Evgenov told about up-to-date heat-resistant alloys for gas turbine engines, protective and thermal protective coatings and promising aluminum, aluminum-lithium alloys and laminated aluminum glass plastics for civil aeronautical engineering articles.
The reporter considered tendencies of development of high-temperature superalloys for GTE components, their properties, manufacturing technologies, methods of processing wastes. He presented developments of VIAM in the field of materials of high abradability and higher wear and tear resistance, but also threw light on the theme of blades protection against corrosion at service temperatures, compressor blades-against corrosion and dust erosion due to application of thermal protective coatings. A.G. Evgenov informed of tendencies of intermetallic alloys development, special brazing technologies. He presented a range of new aluminum and aluminum-lithium alloys of VIAM with improved complex of service characteristics, considered the ways of their chemical composition optimization, peculiar features of technologies on different steps of alloys manufacture, presented development in the field of laminated aluminum glass plastics.
Leading engineer, Candidate of Biological Sciences A.A. Krivushina made a report « Methods of investigation and ways of increasing of materials mycological resistance »
The report is dedicated to methods of investigation of mycological resistance of different materials and ways of its increasing. Examples of failures and influence of microorganisms on materials, articles and fuels, used in aviation were considered. General testing methods and study of microbiological injury were stated aimed at increasing of articles service life.
Interesting reports were presented by the Chinese side. Thus, deputy General director (science) of Beijing Institute of Aviation Materials (BIAM), professor Li Xingwu elucidated new developments of aviation materials in China. The report was dedicated to the issues of aviation materials development in China, directions of their investigation and possibility of application, including high –temperature structural materials, titanium and aluminum alloys, polymer composite and functional materials. Further perspectives of research works were set forth.
Professor Wu Hongchen (BIAM) told about new technologies of application and usage of ion-plasma coatings. Technology of energy beam, possibility of its application in aerospace branch, microelectronics and micro-nanostructures was considered in the report. Advantages of coating technologies were considered, in the first turn, aimed at improving of operating properties and increasing of service life of working parts, but for repair also.
Representative of AVIC Composite Company, professor Liu Songping made the report: «High-resolving ultrasonic control and methods of composite materials and structures investigation». Automatic technologies of non-destructive control as applied to composite structures were considered in the report, especially to large-size ones, allowing to increase the efficiency of evaluation by factor 15-20 in comparison with standard methods of ultrasonic control. Results of investigations, obtained using high-resolving ultrasonic method, including data on quantitative evaluation by ultrasonic acoustic imaging were presented.
Chief of BIAM laboratory, professor Huang Xu considered the present status of titanium alloys for aviation in China, in the first turn high-temperature alloys, their applicability in aircraft structures, engine, but also perspectives of further investigations. Issues of fire safety of titanium alloys were touched up.
Chief of BIAM laboratory, professor Xiong Huaping told about the results, obtained by BIAM in the field of welding and bonding technologies of up-to-date high-temperature aviation materials and about perspectives of research work against the specified subjects.
The representative of BIAM, PhD Li Guyay made a presentation on a theme: “Development of aviation aluminum alloys with high properties”. The report was devoted to key problems of development and consideration of the main characteristics of aluminum alloys with high properties at different stages of their manufacturing, and also the general situation and achievements of China in the field of development of aviation aluminum alloys with high properties was discussed during presentation, the analysis of technological readiness for their manufacturing was carried out.
Following the results of the seminar, the parties noted relevance of reports, and also paid their attention to the importance of expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation in the field of development and researches of aviation materials of civil application by carrying out joint scientific works, exchange of experience and training of specialists.
There was reached the agreement to develop long-term programs and mechanisms of cooperation, and also to carry out annually similar symposiums on exchange of scientific and technical information and discussion of the perspective directions.
