On November 9, 2018, a delegation of the All-Russian Scientific-Research Institute of Aviation Materials (VIAM) headed by Deputy Director General Vladislav V. Antipov visited AVIC Manufacturing Technology Institute (AVIC MTI) and AVIC Composite Corporation Ltd as a part of its structure in Beijing, where they could get acquainted with manufacturing process of polymer composite materials.
According to the results of negotiations with the Leadership of AVIC MTI priority areas for further joint works were chosen and an agreement on the Strategic cooperation was signed. Among the main directions were titanium, heat-resistant aluminum and aluminum-lithium alloys, metal powder compositions of heat-resistant alloys for additive technologies, polymer composite materials. The organizations also would cooperate in the field of protection technology against corrosion of metal materials of airframe, non-destructive methods of control and equipment for additive technologies.
It should be added, that on the same day a meeting with representatives of SRITE was held. According to the results of the meeting the parties signed an agreement providing an opportunity to carry out full-scale climatic tests in Russia (GCTC VIAM) and at climatic stations in China.
AVIC MTI was founded in 1957. The institute is specialized in aviation manufacturing technologies, materials and equipment. Headquarters are located in Beijing.
