On August 16, 2018, Academician of RAS, Evgeny N. Kablov, Director General of the All-Russian Scientific-Research Institute of Aviation Materials (VIAM) visited Ulyanovsk State Technical University.

USTU is one of the largest universities in the Ulyanovsk region and one of the leading scientific centers of the Volga regions. Over 14 000 students are taught at the university. Specialist training is conducted at 52 departments in 48 occupations and 33 directions.

In the course of the visit, a cooperation agreement was signed between VIAM and Ulyanovsk State Technical University. The parties will conduct researches in the interest of industrial enterprises, organize joint projects and programs. Besides, the agreement provides for enhance education of disciplines in the field of aviation materials based on achievements of VIAM for the students of USTU.

It should be noted that an excursion around departments, campuses and laboratories of the universities was organized for Evgeny Kablov. Also a meeting with postgraduates and students were held, at which the Director General of VIAM spoke about the main directions of activity of the institute, prospects of its development, as well as answered numerous questions of the students.

The young people were interested in working conditions at VIAM, opportunities of promotion, training in magistracy and post-graduate courses of the institute, social support of young specialists, mentoring system.
