On May 21, 2018, a solemn awarding ceremony of gown and diploma of the Honorary Doctorate has taken place in an assembly hall of the Academic Board of SPbPU.  Academician of RAS, Evgeny N. Kablov, Director General of the All-Russian Scientific-Research Institute of Aviation Materials (VIAM) has been honored with the honorary degree of Doctor of Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University.

The Leader of VIAM was awarded the title of Honorary Doctorate for outstanding scientific achievements in the field of materials and additive technologies, for development of regional ties in areas related to structural materials for aviation and space industries as well as for long-term fruitful cooperation with SPbPU on development of scientific and educational programs.

“I am infinitely grateful to team of Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University for highly appreciating my services and making me part of your university. It is a great honor for me as scientist and researcher. I am grateful to the whole higher-education teaching personnel and all employees of the university for our joint work and express my confidence that our work will be continued at the same high level”, - Evgeny Kablov pointed out.

It should be added, that during the visit in SPbPU Director General of VIAM read lecture entitled “Materials of new generation. History, present and future”.
