On May 22, 2018, Academician of RAS, Evgeny N. Kablov, Director General of the All-Russian Scientific-Research Institute of Aviation Materials (VIAM) has met with the Nobel prize winner Konstantin S. Novoselov during his visit to Saint Petersburg.
The application of graphene in the various fields of industry, including machine-building, aviation and cosmonautics as well as prospects for commercialization of graphene products were discussed in the course of the meeting. A number of issues related to the standardization of graphene materials and products on their base.
In addition, the scientists considered the possibility of joint advanced exploratory researches in the field of grahene and its production between the Russian and foreign scientific groups as well as the necessity to establish a center of competence for graphene in our country.
Konstantin Novoselov is a well-known physicist. In 2010, he with his teacher Andre Geim were awarded the Nobel prizes in Physics for advanced experience with two-dimensional material – grapene. At present he is the Professor and the member of the Royal Scientific Society of Manchester University. He is engaged in research in the field of mesoscopic physics and nanotechnologies.
