On April 11, 2018, on the eve of the Cosmonautics Day, students of the Bauman Moscow State Technical University and Moscow Aviation Institute visited the All-Russian Scientific-Research Institute of Aviation Materials (VIAM).

In museum of VIAM the guest were told about the materials developed by the institute, which were used to produce space engineering. In particular, the students were demonstrated heat-protective tile, which was used in the design of Buran spacecraft as well as optical light filter “Yastreb” used for pressure suit “Orlan-D”.

In the course of the excursion they visited laboratories of the Testing Center, where the specialists of VIAM conducted mechanical tests of aviation materials and metal physical researches of materials.
