On April 4, 2018, Academician of RAS, Evgeny N. Kablov, Director General of the All-Russian Scientific-Research Institute of Aviation Materials (VIAM) participated in the work of the Scientific and technical congress on engine building.
In the course of the meeting, the participants of the forum discussed issues on manufacturing engines of different application and organization of their aftersales service, production of new materials, technological processes and equipment as well as ecological problems of industry. Leaders, scientists and specialists of industry research institutes, leading pilot and batch enterprises presented their reports.
In particular, Evgeny Kablov made a report, in which he underlined the key role of additive technologies in development of the Russian aviation engine building.
According to his words, production of metal powder compositions is one of the most important directions of additive branch. “At present production of metal powder compositions has been developed in our institute. The overall capacity of this area is to 190 tons per year,” – Director General of VIAM pointed out.
He also declared that additive technologies should play the key role in the development of new engine PD-35. The production of this engine will resolve the issue concerning further development of long-haul civil and military aviation of Russia.
