On January 16, 2018, Academician of RAS, Gregory V. Trubnikov, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of the Russian Federation visited the All-Russian Scientific-Research Institute of Aviation Materials (VIAM).

Gregory Trubnikov was demonstrated the capacities of VIAM in the field of development and batch production of materials of new generation.  In particular, he got acquainted with additive manufacturing, research and production complexes of heat treatment, ion-plasma coatings, isothermal forging of heat-resistant alloys, casting of single-crystal blades of GTE, GTU.

General Director of VIAM, Academician of RAS, Evgeny N. Kablov told the guest about the main directions of activity of the institute and prospects for further development of VIAM. “Scientific achievements of VIAM in the field of development of materials and manufacturing technologies of new generation based on continuity of the process “material→technology→construction” to a large extent determine a level of the Russian materials science and allow producing new samples of complex technical systems”, - Evgeny Kablo pointed out.

Gregory Trubnikov highly appreciated scientific and technical equipment of the institute and its production capacity. According to him, modern technology base of the institute is efficiently used to provide our country with all necessary modern materials.
