On September 21, 2017, winners and laureates of the contest “Aviation worker of the year” were awarded in the ceremony, which took place in the World Trade Center.

Following the results of 2016, over a hundred works of enterprises, organizations and creative teams were examined. 119 members of the expert councils evaluated works.

Representatives of 35 enterprises and organizations of aviation and radio-electronic industry became laureates and winners of the contest, including employees of the All-Russian Scientific-Research Institute of Aviation Materials (VIAM).

Joint work of VIAM (S.V. Nerush, A.M. Rogalev) and JSC “UEC-Aviadvigatel” took first place in the nomination “For development of new technologies”. The authoring team was noted for development of breakthrough additive technology of selective laser melting of domestic metal powders for production of aviation engine parts as exemplified in combustion chamber swirler of PD-14 engine.

The work of VIAM “Training of engineering personnel in the field of materials science in modern conditions” awarded in the nomination “For preparation of specialists of new generation in the field of aviation industry among enterprises”.

It should be noted that the main purpose of the contest “Aviation worker of the year” , which is annually held by the Union of Aviation Industrialists of Russia, is to develop public stimulation system of employees from enterprises of aviation industry, popularization of achievements as well as improvement of cooperation ties.
