On September 6 – 10, for the first time the All-Russian Scientific-Research Institute of Aviation Materials participated in the 30^th Moscow International book fair (MIBF).

VIAM as a part of collective exposition of the Association of State Scientific centers “NAUKA” (pavilion No 75, hall A, stand E31) presented its own printed publications, devoted to contribution of scientists of the institute to the development of domestic materials sciences and aviation industry as a whole. 

It allows implementing such an important task as popularization of scientific knowledge. That is absolutely necessary at the modern stage of development of the Russian science and industry. 

It should be noted, that on September 8, VIAM carried out a presentation of the book “The winged metal. The Russian breakthrough”, depicting the life and activity of I.I. Sidorin, the founder of VIAM. On the same day, VIAM held a presentation of the book named “Roberto Bartini”, devoted to creative career of the Great Soviet aircraft designer.

Moscow International Book Fair annually takes place in VDNH at the beginning of September. MIBF units the largest domestic and foreign publishers, attracts thousands of visitors and serves as a platform for exchange of experience and demonstration of the latest achievements in the field of book publishing. The general authority of international book exhibitions and fairs of the State Press Committee of the Russian Federation acts as the organizer of MIBF.
