On September 5, 2017, Academician of RAS Aleksey E. Kontorovich, prominent scientist, specialist in the field of geology and petroleum geochemistry visited the All-Russian Scientific-Research Institute of Aviation Materials (VIAM).

Academician of RAS Evgeny N. Kablov, Director General of VIAM told the guest about the main directions of the institute`s activity, prospects for development of VIAM as well as work on import substitution of foreign materials for domestic analogues.

The Leader of VIAM informed about the complex of works on preservation and development of competence of the Russian Federation in the field of materials and technologies of new generation in the aviation industry. The institute has modern low-tonnage manufacturing, which allows supplying different materials for successful implementation of the most important state programs.

The guest paid great attention to equipment for production of complex parts by using the method of additive technologies. Aleksey Kontorovich noted modern equipment of the institute and serious workforce capacity.
