On August 8, 2017, Chairman of the Trade Union of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Victor P. Kalinushkin and his deputy, Evgeny E. Onishchenko visited the All-Russian Scientific-Research Institute of Aviation Materials (VIAM).

The guests got acquainted with the scientific activities of VIAM and the latest achievements of the institute in the field of materials science. They also examined high-technology low-tonnage production, outputting more than 230 products.

Academician of RAS, Evgeny N. Kablov, Director General of VIAM told about materials and technologies of new materials, developed by the specialists of the institute, in particular, achievements in the field of additive technologies.

In turn, the guests highly appreciated technical equipment of the institute and its production capacity. They also noted the high level of VIAM`s cooperation with the regions of RF, institutes of RAS, state scientific centers, leading universities of the country, state corporations and industrial enterprises.

During the visit, the issues of interaction between the Russian Academy of Sciences with the Federal Agency for Scientific Organizations of Russia and public authorities related to fundamental and exploratory researches, transfer of technologies as well as commercialization of results of intellectual activity of academic institutes were discussed.

Besides, the issue of finding the best financing of the Russian Academy of Sciences in order to implement the most important state programs and projects of full innovative cycle was considered.

The participants of the meeting separately discussed social security system of scientists of RAS and scientific employees of the institute under the jurisdiction of the Federal Agency for Scientific Organizations.
