On August 2, 2017, Academician of RAS, Gennady G. Matishov, Chairman of the South Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences visited G.V. Akimov Gelendzhik Climatic Testing Center (GCTC VIAM).
During the visit, Gennady Matishov got acquainted with the main directions of activity of the Center, its tasks and prospects for further developments.
The specialists of GCTC demonstrated the guest samples of materials and constructional elements that were being tested at the atmospheric testing side and spoke about the possibilities of the laboratory equipment.
Gennady Matishov highly appreciated the possibilities of the Center and noted that the institute made great work on re-equipment of GCTC with the most modern equipment.

Gennady G. Matishov is the well-known Russian scientist, oceanologist and marine geologist, Doctor of geographical sciences, Professor, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences. He is the recognized innovator on many issues of geomorphology, paleography and bio-oceanology.
The Southern Scientific Center of RAS (SSC RAS) was established in 2002. The center units researchers from different cities of the Southern Federal District in order to solve jointly fundamental and priority tasks for the development of the Russian Federation.
