On May 2, 2018, the employees of the All-Russian Scientific-Research Institute of Aviation Materials (VIAM) laid flowers in the Alexander Garden on the Alley of hero-towns and cities of military glory in the memory of victims of tragic events that had taken place in Odessa on May 2, 2014.
Four years have passed since the events, when dozens of people died who openly expressed their civil position.
On May 4, 2014, the radicals of “Right Sector” (the organization is forbidden in RF) and so-called self-defense of the Maidan burnt a tent town on the Kulikovo Field, where city residents collected signatures for holding a referendum on the federalization of Ukraine and giving the Russian language the status of state. Supporters of federalization took refuge in the House of Trade Unions, but radicals surrounded the building and set a fire to it. In the tragic events, 48 people were killed, more than 200 were injured. The authorities recognized 22 instigators of the riots, arresting only the supporters of “Anti-Maidan.”
