On February 6, 2017, a solemn meeting, dedicated to the Day of the Russian science, took place in the Samara academic opera and ballet theater.  

Prominent scientists, teachers and postgraduates of the institutes of higher education gathered in one of the best halls of the Samara region. Nickolay I. Merkushkin, the Governor of the Samara region congratulated them on the forthcoming holiday.

In the course of the festive ceremony, the Head of the region presented to Evgeny N. Kablov, Academician of RAS, Director General of VIAM, the Governor Prize of the Samara region for considerable contribution to development of scientific researches in interests of aerospace cluster.

The Leader of VIAM thanked Nikolay Merkushkin for the award, which was the highest estimation as my work and the work of the whole team of the institute.”

He also emphasized the importance of establishment of VIAM`s branch in Samara, which will promote the development of the aerospace cluster. “I want to add, that further development of the region, where such enterprises as JSC “SRC “Progress” and PJSC “Kuznetsov” function, is impossible without the new technologies, including additive ones,” – Evgeny Kablov said.

Besides, the Director General of VIAM congratulated the Samara scientists on holiday: “You are lucky, that the President of the country has made a decision to send for work Nikolay I. Merkushkin to the Samara region. You work to enhance the prestige of the Samara region, and I am sure, that you can solve all tasks, - Evgeny Kablov said.

It should be remembered, that VIAM and the enterprises of aerospace industry of the Samara region have been cooperating for many years. A branch of VIAM will be established in Samara in order to expand the cooperation. Strategic partnership in the field of education, science and development of technologies is implicit in the project.
