December 26, 2016 Director General of the All-Russian Scientific–Research Institute of Aviation Materials, Academician of RAS Evgeny N. Kablov held a traditional meeting with young specialists and scientists of VIAM.

The Leader of VIAM noted that such meetings were very useful for him. “They give an opportunity of real-life communication, when you can learn about problems and mood of young specialists, as well as hear their wishes and proposals”, - he pointed out.

At the same time, Evgeny Kablov said, that young specialists were driving force of the institute, because more than 80 % of the responsible executers of VIAM`s thematic plan were the employees under 35 years of age. “Success of our common case depends on your activity”- Director General of VIAM pointed out, addressing to the young people.

In the course of the meeting the chairman of the Council of young specialists and scientists of VIAM Alexey M. Smirnov told about the main results of the work of the Council in 2016 and tasks for a future year. In particular, he gave figures relating to dynamics of theses defense of the young specialists, their participation in contests, scientific conferences, round tables as well as in sport and social events.

Besides, Alexey Smirnov pointed out, that the young people would be very difficult to achieve high results without people who transferred them wealth of experience. Adviser to Director General Stanislav S. Solntsev, Leading engineer of the laboratory №8 Tamara V. Pavlova, Head of sector of laboratory №1 Lydia I. Rassokhina became the best mentors according to the results of the year 2016. They were awarded diplomas. 

At the end of the meeting, Leader of VIAM wished the young specialists not to be afraid to set high goals and to work hard. “It is necessary to understand and absorb that knowledge is the most valuable commodity in the world. We should apply the principle: it isn`t a shame not to know, but it is a shame not to learn”. In other words, it is necessary to learn always in order to assimilate knowledge”, - Evgeny Kablov pointed out.
