On October 15, 2016, employees of the All-Russian Scientific-Research Institute of Aviation Materials took part in the memorable events, devoted to the 199^th anniversary of the death of Admiral Fyodor F. Ushakov, Great Russian naval commander and outstanding statesman.

VIAM acted as initiator and organizer of the events.

Traditionally that day began with a liturgy at Rozdestvo-Bogorodichnij Sanaksar Monastery, situated in the village of Alexeevka of the Temnikovskij Region.

Then the participants honored the memory of the great naval commander at the monument.

It is remarkably, that the stela was established on the site of the house of Fyodor Ushakov, at which he lived the last years of his life. The employees of VIAM raised funds to restore the monument.

In conclusion, a lecture was delivered by Vladimir D. Ovchinnikov, military historian and the author of a book “Admiral Fyodor Ushakov – holy righteous warrior”, which was held at the Temnikov museum of Local Lore.
