On July 14, 2016, the All-Russian Scientific-Research Institute of Aviation Materials and Cienfuegos Center for Climatic Researches (Centro de Estudious Ambientales de Cienfuegos, the Republic of Cuba) have signed a cooperation agreement. The event was held at the branch of VIAM – G.V. Akimov Gelendzhik Climatic Testing Center.
Carlos Alberto Mendes Garcia, Specialist of International Relations Department of the Cuban Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment attended the signing ceremony.
Academician of RAS, Evgeny N. Kablov, Director General of VIAM and Minerva Sanchez Llull, Director of Cienfuegos Center for Climatic Researches affixed their signatures to the document.
The parties intend to strengthen the cooperation in the field of establishment of a Russian-Cuban Common Climatic Testing Station for exposing materials under the tropical weather conditions in the Caribbean. In particular, it is planned to carry out joint works in the field of researches related to the climatic resistance of materials, construction elements and complex technical systems as well as tests for biological resistance.
As Evgeny Kablov stated “Our countries are closely tied with historic relations, which have received a new cycle of development in recent years. The Russian-Cuban cooperation in the field of science has enormous potential for the realization of which we should use wealth of experience, obtained over the years”.
According to him, the signing of the agreement is the result of hard work, carried out by VIAM and Cienfuegos Center for Climatic Researches. “I am sure that our further joint work will be successfully developed and strengthened”, - he pointed out.
